my dogs stink. but so does the price of dog shampoo. I know you can't use regular people shampoo because the pH is wrong for their skin and hair, but I am looking for information and/or a recipe for a replacement- anyone have any info on using mild household soaps (Ivory, Castile) to make dog shampoo? I mean, it has to be made of something, right?
Plus, I am allergic to perfumes, so this would help me two ways. thanks! |

My dog is a person, but I seriously use generic baby shampoo on him and he does just fine. really. no itching. When he's a really stinky dog I rinse him
in vinegar water first, then bath him in the baby shampoo...he simply hates this, but it rids him of the smell.

I use castille soap (liquid) and add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to kill fleas and a few drops of tea tree oil to soothe any scrapes, flea bites, or anything
else he might have. If I'm out of castille soap, baby shampoo works great as a replacement.
