Hi,
It has been a while I have had to remove wallpaper but I found out if your wet the paper and score it with a object like a fork it helps to loosen the paper to take it off but it takes while. |

I helped a friend with that same problem 6 years ago. We used vinegar and water. I don't know remember how much of each. We sprayed it on the wall, came back 20 minutes later and it peeled off.
There's also this stuff you can buy at hardware stores. I don't remember the name, but it's this pasty, white goo and you paint it on and when it turns green, you use a putty knife to scrap it off. Not much of a helper, huh? I can't even remember names of products. Sorry. Hugs, dragonfly |

You can rent a wallpaper steamer, which really helps. However you remove the wallpaper, it is a mess. I have promised myself never ever to paper walls again. Painting using faux techniques is the way to go. Inexpensive too.

score the paper and wet it down real good and let it soak in. youll have to wet it 2 or 3 times then use an old wet towel and an iron on the highest setting just hold the wet towel over the paper and use the iron to steam the paper off in the places it wouldnt peel off
make sure to use the hottest water you can stand to wet the paper and towel it works faster |

Thx for all your help. I especially like to idea of the vinegar and water. If you can find out the ratio for me it would be great.

Straight vinegar | ||

My husband and I used just straight vinegar in a spray bottle and it worked great when we removed some UG-ly wallpaper in our home. After a while my husband wanted to dilute it a little because of the strong smell and it worked just fine.

That's right! We added water because we couldn't stand the smell.
Good Luck! Hugs, dragonfly |

Thanx everyone...it wasn't that difficult. i used an old wash rag and dampened the wall, let it sit then peel off. Very easy. I'm not so much afraid of wallpaper.

I saw this guy on TV ( "sell this house" is the program name) and he uses fabric conditioner diluted in water. Not sure about the ratio, like 1:3 maybe.
First he uses something to make a lot of little holes on the paper, then he soaks it with this mixture and wait a while, then scrap it so easily. Late for you but hope this helps anyone! Ilain B in Argentina |

I had very old wallpaper in my house. I pulled the paper front off and sprayed the paper backing and glue with a mix of fabric softener and water. Waited about
a minute and scraped it right off. No scoring.
