We ve been using the following ingredients for laundry soap for around 1 1/2 years now:
1/2 C washing soda
1/2 C borax
1/3 bar Fels Naptha
2 gallons water.
My wife breaks out in a rash on her neck, shoulders, forearms and back of hands. We purchased some Armond Hammer unscented and rewashed ALL of our laundry(WHAT a JOB) and it seemed to help. She got home from work this morning and was itching up a storm again. Found out she was wearing a work sweater that missed the rewashing process.
Has anyone else had this problem? Did switching the base soap cure the problem? Or was it one of the other ingredients?
The other two ingredients seem to be very user friendly. Washing soda seems like just a concentrated baking soda and Borax has been around for at least 100 years. She had no skin problems before using the home made laundry soap.
I bought a bar of Castille soap and I was thinking of trying another batch with it. Anyone try this bar soap ??
Thanks for any and all replies. I sure would like to get back to using the home made stuff.
Have a wonderful day,eh?
